Use our granular pH Down (100% sodium Bisulphate) to decrease the pH level of your pool or spa and slow the rapid dissipation of chlorine caused by acidic water! Maintaining a proper pH level in your pool/spa water (between 7.2 and 7.6 ppm.) is vital for keeping the water clean and safe for use and reducing corrosion of pool equipment. If your pH level is too high, it can also reduce the effectiveness of the chlorine causing another problem entirely. Many variables affect the pH level in your water: pool usage, rain, animal droppings, etc.

This is why it is important to test a minimum of every 3 - 4 days. The pH level should always be adjusted before adding chlorine to the pool water. 10,000 L is approximately 2,200 Imp. gal. 1 oz is equivalent to approximately 30 g.

    • pH Down Water Balancer is suitable for: Above‑ground pools In‑ground pools Saltwater (chlorine generator) pools Spas and hot tubs It works in all these systems to lower pH when it rises too high. Because spas typically have smaller volumes and different sanitizer requirements, make smaller incremental adjustments and retest frequently.

imageWhy is proper pH important? 1 Answer

    • Maintaining the correct pH level is crucial because it directly affects nearly every part of your water chemistry: Sanitizer efficiency: Chlorine works best when pH is in the right range Bather comfort: Balanced pH reduces irritation to eyes and skin Equipment protection: Helps prevent corrosion of heaters, pumps, fittings, and surfaces Water clarity: Keeps water clear and reduces buildup of scale or deposits Ideal pH range for both pools and spas is 7.2 – 7.6. If your pH consistently stays above this level, you’ll likely need to use a pH‑lowering product like this one.
