• Another convenient method for chlorinating your pool is Calcium Hypo. This is a powdered form of chlorine, which offers similar conveniences to chlorine pucks. There is one major downside to using this method over time, and that is that over 30% of the calcium released remains in your pool. This causes scaling and cloudy water.

• Dichlor is often sold as Chlorine Granules or Shock. These granules dissolve quickly and are often used as a quick cleaning solution. Like with Trichlor, Dichlor will raise your CYA levels.

• One of the more expensive forms of swimming pool chlorination (next to a SWG) is Lithium Hypo. This is a powdered form of chlorine, and doesn’t add problematic additives to your water.
