This is the first robotic cleaner (not counting the terrible old Barracuda one that came with my pool that never worked well and had those awful hose sections you had to assemble every time you used it), so I can't really compare this one to others, but I've been extremely pleased with this unit so far and fully recommend it. I have a 40x20 pool which is irregular shape (no straight sections at all). It does a great job and I find that the two standard programs (1.5 hour to clean bottom and 2.5 hours to do bottom+water line) work great. You can add time to them, but I've rarely had it finish and require more time because it missed something significant. I have a lot of trees and this spring has had some very windy days with lots of things ending up on the bottom of the pool. This cleaner has been great! The unit has never got stuck and I've never had to do anything to "rescue" it while cleaning. Truly just pop it in the water and leave it to do its thing. I've probably run it about 15-20 times now. Cleaning it is easy, and the filter basket is plenty large enough for regular cleanings. This cleaner does a more thorough job than I would when vacuuming manually! There is a higher model of this unit that adds a remote control, but I honestly don't see why anyone would ever use that -seems like a gimmick to me. The display on the console looks a bit old-school, but it is easy to read even in bright sunlight. Very easy to use, not complicated at all. It has an option to be programmed for multi-day operations, but like the remote this is something I don't see the need for - keep it simple and just select what you want each time since it's so quick and easy.
